Building brighter futures through fostering

Founded in 1996, Fosterplus has a fundamental belief: children can thrive if they have a loving, stable, and supportive home.

Over the past 30 years, we’ve seen first-hand how growing up with the same foster family makes such a difference to the lives of children.

While it’s common for children in care to move between multiple foster families, at Fosterplus Scotland, we aim to break this cycle of disruption for the children in our care.

Alongside being an award-winning agency, our Scotland team has been rated ‘Very Good’ by the Care Inspectorate in its last inspection – showcasing our passion for supporting children and families to thrive.

We carefully match foster parents with children and give them continuous support, help, and guidance, ensuring that every child has the opportunity to remain with the same family for as long as they need.

Giving you the support and services you need

Our social workers, education specialists, and other professionals work as one team, giving you reliable support whenever you need it. You’ll also have access to ongoing training, regular supervision, and a welcoming network of local carers who understand your journey.

We’re also proud to have strong connections with local authorities, who appreciate our commitment to building positive futures for the children in our care.

All of these combine to create excellent support and stability, which in turn encourages long-term development and continuity, ensuring foster carers, children, and young people can thrive.

You are required to have a spare bedroom that’s always available to a foster child. The spare room cannot be shared, and must be big enough to fit a single bed, a wardrobe and a chest of drawers.

To be approved as a foster carer in the UK, you must be a British citizen or have the legal right to remain in the UK without restrictions that would prevent fostering.

The following questions are intended to help us understand your experience with children. Please note that prior experience is not required to become a foster carer, as full training will be provided.
